Meditation & Reiki: my experience

I learned yoga meditation, and also Zen meditation, and I practiced daily meditation for many years. That gave me a quieting of mental chatter (under most circumstances) and a restful place inside myself - a sense of refreshment once or twice a day (or whenever I practiced it).

But, at the same time I had continued to deal with the aftermath of problems in my childhood and adolescence, what some might interpret as an outgrowth of a tension-filled family. These things in early life - plus the disasterous outcome of a collapsed relationship with a woman, in my 20s - started me putting up emotional walls to defend myself. Suffice to say, I boxed myself in much more than I realized. I went on various long meditation retreats, took some courses in communication, and a lot of things.

Eight years ago I broke my leg while in a steep area of the forest, and (while mending) I decided to take a course and an "attunement" in "Reiki". As you may know, it's a spiritual path and a method for developing one's healing abilities. I thought I was doing this for my leg, but it resulted in several other benefits: The attunement itself immediately and unexpectedly acted to clear away many of those emotional traces that had remained since childhood and adolescence - a muddy, lingering shame, sadness, and fear - the emotional stuff I referred to before that I had never been able to completely shake off.

In reaction to emotional pain, I had put up walls. But after my attunement, both the pain/fear and the walls I had made just dissolved - possibly not totally, but very much so. My overall mood improved and I felt more stable and more able during the day under all circumstances. My sense of intimacy with nature (birds, dogs, horses, wild mammals) markedly increased - and, also, about twice as many people as before acted like they really liked me! (And this has continued.) Song birds began to perch on my head when I meditated outdoors - which I enjoyed. Generally I used to meditate in order to quiet my mind, but I now start from a quiet inner state.

Obviously, I've felt less absorbed by personal problems and any tendency to obsession with them. Among other odd things, my "sending" telepathy increased.

On the physical level (and due to the use of the Reiki self-healing techniques I learned), my daily energy level rose by maybe 20 percent, and a skin irritation symptom I'd had since I was less than seven years old disappeared, permanently. Instead of getting maybe three colds or flu per year, I've had five in seven years.

For me, Reiki attunement may have just been the right ingredient in my life at the right time. But I have been involved quite a bit in Reiki circles (which are loose associations of people, rather than any sort of real organization), and a number of other people have said similar things about the effects they have noticed in their lives.

I still meditate and attempt to live an ethical life and compassionate life. I do not think Reiki is a substitute for these things. But I do think it works along with them nicely.

hello ;^) i am new here.

i do appreciate your post. i also have studied reiki and yoga and meditation for the last 14 years... Geeze i'm getting old! i do find however that the reiki in addition to these other practices has helped me gain some perspective and self control. and when i say self control i mean clarity over what my thoughts r in my head and control over some of what is going on in my head! like run on dialogues that r left over programs from childhood and past negative experiences. i have learned awareness of my thoughts and i have learned techniques on how to clear old negative, unproductive thought patterns.
i have also learned how to be humble and how not to judge. we can always learn from even the most unsuspecting person, place or situation! it taught me how to be in 'sinc' with nature and the universe.... and how to see divinity within everything.

if we reach out into the universe, it reaches out to us ;^) it will touch us as we touch it....

thank u sooo much for your post : -) i think that u have touched on something very beautiful....

blessings and much luv to u... i can see that universe has responded to u : -)

Its always nice to hear from others who are on the path and take it to heart. I have been thinking about the heart lately, because it seems like love is the most plausible expression for me to act out in this lifetime. I would not have known that if not for such practices. I am going to respond to some questions on a psychic discovery forum about meditation, maybe I will post a link in this thread. I think we will probably get a good conversation going regarding the practice of meditation and the management of energy and mental content.

Here are some distant Reiki healing videos. You can use them for meditation and tell us how the energy feels from it.

So many things have assisted me in remembering this state of being, and my Reiki attunement is just one above many. Each new teacher in my life has brought me back into focus.

There are many ways to meditate as stated in books and such, but i believe one needs a true Guru/master who has perfected the meditation techniques and is capable of empowering/initiating someone. I've met a Guru.....YOGA JNANA SITTHAR OM SRI RAJAYOGA GURU.

His Divine Grace is A sitthar on earth right now who is helping common people like us by initiating/ empowering us.Sitthars are capable of doing absolutely anything. These beings are able to transform themselves into a mountain/ change into an atom/ materialise things from thin air/ walk on water etc - anything at all!

His Divine Grace (HDG) Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga Guru had an inherent thirst to realise God from a very young age. Over the early years HDG exhibited Divine Powers and special abilities obtained through various Divine experiences.

Realising the necessity of a Guru to progress spiritually, HDG searched for a genuine Guru. But this was an arduous task as the gurus made use of HDG special abilities for their own benefit. In this way, the false gurus got fame and good name at the expense of our Guru.

Being very disheartened, HDG started to pray steadfastly alone. Subsequently, this led to amazing meetings with true Gurus who passed on japas and mantras of God realisation to HDG.

HDG Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga spent over twenty seven years researching fully understanding the the secrets of Rajayoga. By japas, penances and prayers, our Guru obtained many Divine Visions. HDG wanted all people to obtain the benefits of Yogic Power, Initially, Now, as arranged by the disciples, HDG is empowering everyone with the Yoga Power. Now, our Guru, fondly known as Dato Seri Guruji, has more than a hundred thousand disciples from Malaysia and all over the world, who are living a healthy, successful and protected life

His Divine Grace Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga Guru exhibits true leadership by example, by virtue of being a highly attained spiritual master as well as being a scientist, having obtained a Philosophical Doctorate in Metaphysics and Parapsychology. His Divine Grace has also been acknowledged as the “Mahaguru of Malaysia” in the highly acclaimed book “Malaysia’s Who’s Who” (Year 2007 Volume 1 page 506). Hence, His Divine Grace is very successful in all aspects, be it spirituality, education, wealth or family life. His Divine Grace is a living example of how one can be successful simultaneously both in worldly and spiritual life using the Divine Power called Yogasakhti. His Divine Grace is indeed a great inspiration for all disciples to progress and become great achievers in life.

This basic form of energy is the life-sustaining force which keeps the universe and all its animate and inanimate objects "alive". Organic and inorganic cycles are also operating based on this subtle energy. One’s ability to acquire and penetrate the skill of accumulating pranic energy in one’s body rests totally in the hands of the Master who teaches it. As for RPT, the Divine Master, Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga Guru has completely mastered this art and possesses the ability to transmit the skills of utilizing one’s own pranic energy, to disciples. This is only possible after the empowerment session, as he/she will be able to utilize this pranic energy to achieve success in both material and spiritual domains. These skills and abilities are achievable by anyone regardless of race, religion or nationality. The process of transmitting the skills and termed empowerment is made possible by the Divine Master’s complete mastery of the science of Rajayoga

Tribe's "Meditation" forum here is still going along well. But, since many other Tribe.net spiritual forums have been drying up, I've searched around to find other on-line sites that have useful discussions on meditation, energies (prana or qi), healing, and the like.

This site may be of solid interest to you. Check it out...
    www.thetaobums.com

Once on the front (index) page, go to the forum Taoist Discussion.

There are for instance two current topics, one titled "Levels of healing results", the other titled "Redemption for Reiki" that I know could be of interest to Tribe.net healers. There's an archive of many discussions. The general orientation is toward practicality... actual doing & achieving.

The site has an Eastern focus (meditation, qigong, Reiki, yoga practices, etc). Discussions are wide-ranging, and a lot of pure personal experience is brought in, too
